MITO, the Legend
For about 50 years, Abdelhamid Akhazan (Mito), the very known circus pedagogue in Larache, has been able to address thousands of people and help them becoming international circus artists. He created an international network of Moroccan Acrobats all around the world. Today, he is the president of Gymnastics & Acrobatics Association and still teaching circus arts for a third generation.
Coming to Oujed Awed Circus Festival in Larache, a collaborative project between Jordbro VarldsOrkester (Sweden) and Gymnastics and Acrobatics Association of Larache (Morocco), we will celebrate the life of MITO through a circus/theatre performance directed by Louise Kvarby (Dancer and Choreographer from Sweden) and Jamal Nouman (Musician and Actor from Morocco).
The Festival will take place during the period of 23-30 June 2019.
On the 23rd, we will launch the photo exhibition *Moments of Mito* at Foundek Zeljou with a press conference talking about the project of *Mito's Acrobats in Larache*.
On the 27th, there will be a press conference and a forum about the collaborative project and the life of Mito through a film and photo exhibition.
On the 28th, 29th and 30th you will have a meeting with the circus/theatre performance ''Mito and the Kingdom of Dragons'' at Al Fatah Fortress, near Gbibat district in Larache. The doors will be open at 21h and the show will start at 22h.
